Mainly Nero d’Avola, with a small proportion of other local grape varieties

Appassimento is an age-old Sicilian tradition, involving the natural partial dehydration of grapes to produce a greater concentration of colour, aroma and flavour. The word ‘Siccari’ comes from the Sicilian dialect for sun-drying.
Rich and complex, with soft berryish fruits and a touch of spice, an approachable red that over-delivers in flavour!
